Our Simulation Educators can assist with beginning the customization of a simulation course, high fidelity scenario or task training session.
If you are interested in requesting a reservation, please visit our Request a Reservation page to review the guidelines and fill out a request form. A member of our team will be in contact with you following submission of that form.
There are many factors that contribute to the cost of using the center. Contact our Division Administrator/Operations Manager and they can walk you through your options.
The Center for Human Simulation and Patient Safety follows VCU's operating schedule. If VCU closes or has a delayed opening or school closing, we will contact you to reschedule any affected sessions. Information on VCU's operating status can always be found at VCU Alert.
You will receive a notification once you have entered your request in RedCap. Our team meets weekly to review new requests. Please allow up to 7 business days for confirmation of your event. A team member may also reach out to gather additional information about your request. Our Simulation Program Coordinator will send out a friendly reminder 1 week prior to the event with room confirmations and Simulation Center policies.
If you do not receive a confirmation email within the time frame specified, please do not hesitate to contact our Division Administrator (Elizabeth Trent) at efredericksen@vcu.edu.

We recommend the following timeframe for requests to ensure a successful implementation of your event:
- For new events/new curriculum adds – at least 12 weeks prior to event dates (applies to both Standardized Patient, Ultrasound, High Fidelity and Low Fidelity events)
- For existing events/existing curriculum – at least 8 weeks prior to event dates (applies to both Standardized Patient, Ultrasound, High Fidelity and Low Fidelity events)
- For photo/video shoots – at least 2 weeks prior to the event dates
