Kristin Canipe, an MSN RN, joined our team as a simulation educator in 2016. She holds an MSN in Nursing Education from East Carolina University and a BSN from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Prior to joining VCU, she played a pivotal role as a founding team member of the Adult Rapid Response Team at VCUHS. Before that, Kristin gained valuable experience at Duke University Medical Center, working as both a Medical ICU RN and a Pulmonary/Renal Progressive Care RN.
In her role as a simulation educator, Kristin collaborates closely with VCU faculty and VCUHS staff to design and develop simulation and task training courses, adhering to best practices. Her passion lies in creating inter-professional simulations for the adult population across the health system as well as anesthesia and internal medicine focused events. Kristin is an active member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and holds her CHSE certification. She has also attended the Healthcare Simulation Essentials: Design and Debriefing course offered by the Center for Medical Education at Harvard.
