A faculty member teaches studentsThe Center for Human Simulation and Patient Safety at the VCU School of Medicine serves as a key educational hub, offering an extensive array of courses tailored to the needs of a wide spectrum of healthcare professionals, including medical students, residents, nursing staff, fellows, attending physicians, and other providers within the healthcare system. Dedicated to maximizing the potential of simulation-based learning, the center’s team is focused on enhancing interprofessional teamwork, addressing knowledge and skills gaps, and driving quality improvement initiatives throughout the VCU Health System.

The center’s experienced staff collaborates closely with faculty and instructors to design and implement specialized courses. They provide expert consultation in curriculum development, scenario creation, assessment, and evaluation. To assist you in developing your scenario or learning more about simulation best practice principles, we have compiled a comprehensive document from various publicly available resources.
